Eating well
Tips on how to maintain a balanced diet
A good diet gives you more energy, helps you stay trim, and can also reduce the risk of diseases like heart disease, stroke, diabetes and osteoporosis.
But don’t worry; eating well doesn’t mean giving up foods you love. It means enjoying them in moderation, whilst eating more of the right sorts. So what should you be eating more of? And what foods should you cut down on? Here’s your easy-to-follow guide to better eating:
Eat less
- Burgers, sausages
- Chips
- Red meat
- Pizza
- Crisps
- Chocolates
- Fizzy drinks
- Cakes and biscuits
Eat more
- Salads
- Fresh fruit and vegetables
- White meat and poultry
- Wholewheat pasta and bread
- Nuts
- Fish
- Also try to drink 8 glasses of water per day
Please remember to speak to your doctor before making any drastic changes to your diet if you are at all unsure.
